As the Baltimore Ravens prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft, there could still be one or two moves made to shore up the roster and put this organization in the best position to succeed during draft weekend.
One of the spots they could look at is on the interior offensive line, and specifically at guard. Andrew Vorhees has his spot locked in right now, but only started three games last year.
Vorhees was a higher-profile type of pick out of college before his major injury, so that is still at the forefront, for the time being at least. He's shown the Ravens some good things since being drafted, but the fact that he's started just three games in two years is something that can't be argued with.
Competition is never a bad thing, and if the Ravens could add one more piece to this position before the draft, they'd have one less concern.
Fortunately, a specific free agent made headlines this week after he responded to a TikTok video in reference to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Free agent guard Dalton Risner commented on a video saying he would "love" to play for the Bengals, which of course now has Bengals fans talking.
The Ravens could steal a starting-caliber lineman from right out in front of the Bengals
Let's be real, here. The Bengals need Risner a whole heck of a lot more than the Ravens do. He'd come in and start immediately in Cincinnati.
But, he very well could start in Baltimore, too. It wouldn't be out of the question for Risner to beat Vorhees out at his spot. And, the Ravens signing Risner would only add to the Bengals' recent misery.
You know you'd love it.
Last year, Risner played 537 snaps for the Minnesota Vikings and gave up exactly zero sacks in the process, per Pro Football Focus. He also finished with a clean slate in terms of penalties -- zero accumulated in that category as well.
Related Ravens news:
Risner is a much better pass blocker than run blocker, similar to Vorhees. With Vorhees still developing, he'd also benefit from a veteran coming in and competing. It's a healthy fact that's part of the game.
Last year, Risner signed a 1-year, $2.41 million contract with the Vikings. At this point in the free agency period, it wouldn't be shocking to see him get a similar deal. We're far enough into the offseason where he wouldn't cost as much as a premier starter.
But still, he's a starting-caliber guard, and that's valuable to a team like the Ravens who are seemingly always in the mix in the AFC.
