Ravens could have a buy-low target to address urgent roster hole in free agency

While they have a fair amount of money to play with this offseason, the Baltimore Ravens could be balling on a budget come free agency time. The anticipated Lamar Jackson extension (whenever it comes) will free up a lot more money this offseason, but other extensions to pending free agents will likely keep their 2026 cap space a relatively tight squeeze.

As a result, the Ravens may be bargain bin hunting. One position of need that could come at is the edge rusher spot. They undoubtedly need proven pass rush help after a dumpster fire on that front in 2025. But the unfortunate reality is that some of those players available may price themselves out of Baltimore. That could open up the possibility of a player like Atlanta Falcons outside linebacker Arnold Ebiketie joining the Ravens.

NFL.com writer Kevin Patra recently wrote an article highlighting eight players who could be misvalued in free agency. Ebiketie is one of the guys he believes could be underpriced. Patra wrote:

“Although the former second-round pick has generated just 16.5 career sacks over four campaigns, he possesses explosiveness off the edge that could thrive under new leadership in Atlanta or in new surroundings. Despite seeing a career-low 370 snaps in 2025, his 16.4% pressure rate was the best of his career, per Next Gen Stats. In a league always in need of pass-rush help, Ebiketie could be a steal on a short-term prove-it deal.”

Ebiketie may not be that flashy pass rusher that Ravens fans desperately want this offseason, but he could be a key piece in rebuilding an unbearably bad unit.

Arnold Ebiketie could be an underrated target for Ravens in free agency

While Ebiketie had a quiet 2025 campaign in terms of sacks, as he had just two across 17 games, he’s shown promise across his four-year career. He had six sacks in both his 2023 and 2024 seasons, and as Patra mentioned, he had a career-best pressure rate last year. Oh yeah, and the Ravens need pass rush help really, really badly.

Baltimore totaled just 30 sacks in 2025. That was tied for third-worst in the NFL. Their top sack-getter was defensive lineman Travis Jones with five sacks, and the player who had the second-most, outside linebacker Tavius Robinson (4.5), played in just 10 games. There’s not only a severe lack of top-tier talent, but a lack of depth. Ebiketie would help boost that, and could build a respectable trio off the edge between himself, Mike Green, and Robinson.

The Ravens also hired a defensive-minded head coach in Jesse Minter. As a result, the front office should give him all the help he needs on defense this offseason. Minter has proven he can get the most out of players who may have fallen out of favor on other rosters, and Ebiketie could be an instance of that if he lands in Charm City. He would also benefit from new defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver's fiery leadership.

According to Spotrac, Ebiketie is currently projected to sign a three-year, $27 million contract, which comes out to an annual salary of $9 million. Given his down-year statistically in 2025, a shorter, cheaper deal could make a ton of sense for Ebiketie. If that’s the case, general manager Eric DeCosta should certainly make an offer to try to get Minter’s defense swaying in the right direction in 2026.

The Ravens would still need a lot more help on the edge in this scenario. Their defense is horrendous, and Ebiketie, while offering the potential as a good rotational option, wouldn’t be the game-changer they may be searching for. He would certainly be a good start, though.
