The Baltimore Ravens have been riding the struggle bus. That’s no secret. They’ve been on a wave of disappointment, especially late in games. Thankfully, that should change against the Tennessee Titans.
All week, the defense has spoken about improving their composure in the fourth quarter; head coach Jesse Minter and defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver have harped on improving tackling. Well, now’s your perfect chance to improve that.
The Titans have been horrendous. They’re sitting at 0-3, and their record isn’t lying. Sure, their defense has been solid, but boy has their offense been bad.
The Ravens have to expose that offense. If they can’t, there might be some excruciating problems on the horizon.
Baltimore Ravens defense should easily rebound vs. Tennessee Titans offense
Talent-wise, Ravens defense really shouldn’t be underperforming the way it is. With Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey, and Nate Wiggins in the secondary, Roquan Smith and Trenton Simpson at linebacker, and a load of talent on the defensive line, this has the makings of a top unit in the NFL.
And you can’t blame the coaching anymore. They have an outstanding defensive-minded coach in Jesse Minter. Realistically, it should only be a matter of time before guys perfect the scheme and start firing on all cylinders. They’re too good not to.
If there’s any time to turn that page, Week 4 is. They’re facing a scuffling Titans offense that has shown no signs of life.
Most of their offensive rankings are flat-out abysmal.
STATISTIC | TOTAL | RANKING |
|---|---|---|
Total yards per game | 249.3 | 31st |
Passing yards per game | 159.0 | 30th |
Rushing yards per game | 90.3 | 29th |
Pass-block win rate | 46% | 26th |
Run-block win rate | 74% | 14th |
It looks like the only thing they’ve done moderately well is pave the way in the run game, but Tennessee’s running back duo of Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears have yet to produce much.
For Baltimore, their defense is pretty much right smack in the middle against both the pass and run. Overall, the defensive performance hasn't been disastrous, but when it rains, it pours. It’s specifically been down the stretch where they forget how to play football, missing tackles and allowing opposing offenses to move the chains with ease.
The Titans, however, really don’t have the playmakers to make the Ravens look silly like that.
Pollard is considered a slightly above-average back at best. Carnell Tate and Wan’Dale Robinson are talented wide receivers, but the duo has yet to make much noise in 2026. Cam Ward is looking like a bust at quarterback. It’s an offense that is simply floundering.
There’s really no reason Baltimore’s defense shouldn’t look like a true threat in Week 4. It’s a golden opportunity to build confidence and look like the Ravens defenses of old.
