The Baltimore Ravens entered the 2025 NFL Draft with a clear priority: keep building the best defense in football and patch the biggest hole on the roster. They took care of the defense early, landing Georgia safety Malaki Starks and Marshall edge rusher Mike Green. But one major concern still lingered—depth and stability on the offensive line.
With the 91st overall pick in the third round, Baltimore took a big step toward solving it. The Ravens selected LSU offensive lineman Emery Jones, a multi-year SEC starter with the kind of size, athleticism, and pedigree Baltimore values up front.
Jones started 36 games over three seasons for the Tigers, earning Second-Team All-SEC honors in each of the last two years. He has experience at right tackle but has the versatility and movement skills to kick inside if needed—a perfect match for a Ravens team looking for flexibility and toughness across the offensive line.
Emery Jones adds needed depth and competition to Ravens’ front
At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, Jones brings the physical tools that have consistently helped Baltimore build top-tier offensive lines. He’s a smooth mover with quick feet, a strong base, and enough pop in the run game to fit seamlessly into the Ravens’ downhill rushing attack.
While Jones didn’t carry the same hype as LSU teammate Will Campbell, who went No. 4 overall to the New England Patriots, he still drew plenty of praise for his technique, toughness, and football IQ. He excelled as a run blocker and showed enough lateral quickness to suggest he could hold up at either tackle or guard in the NFL.
The Ravens’ biggest question this offseason has been left guard after losing Patrick Mekari to Jacksonville. Andrew Vorhees is penciled in as the favorite to start, but Jones now enters the mix and could compete for snaps right away—either inside or as a swing tackle behind Ronnie Stanley and Roger Rosengarten.
Baltimore needed to strengthen the offensive trenches to keep Lamar Jackson upright and the run game rolling. Grabbing a three-year SEC starter like Jones at this point in the draft feels like classic Ravens value. Eric DeCosta did it again.
They handled defense early. Now they’ve finally addressed the biggest flaw remaining on the roster.
