The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the most feared teams in the NFL over the past few seasons. Under Head Coach John Harbaugh, the team has usually been in contention for the Super Bowl. In the Lamar Jackson era, that consistency has been ramped up to 100, showing out each week of every season.
With the 2025 schedule released, outlooks for teams’ 2025 seasons are becoming evident. Baltimore faces one of the toughest schedules in the league and expectations are sky-high for this team in 2025.
NFL Spin Zone’s Sayre Bedinger tried his hand at predicting every NFL team’s record for this upcoming season. He has the Ravens claiming the AFC North crown again, and doing so in dominant fashion. With a record of 15-2, this view on how the 2025 NFL season plays out challenges Baltimore to be the league’s best in the regular season.
Bedinger seems confident that the Ravens will be in control of the best regular season record by the time Week 18 passes, and it’s with good reason. The Ravens had another outstanding offseason where they lost minimal talent and filled in the cracks in free agency. In the draft, Eric DeCosta outclassed everyone with a draft that had the rest of the league jealous. Overall, this team only got better.
On offense, the Ravens have too many playmakers to count. There are your typical culprits in Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and Zay Flowers making splash plays, but it goes beyond the starters. Players like Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell will keep Henry fresh and change the pace with their speed, and the tight end trio will continue to be one of the league’s best. It’s safe to say this offense will run at a million miles an hour, and opposing defenses will struggle to keep up.
On defense, the team had its fair share of uncharacteristic struggles. But once first-year defensive coordinator Zach Orr had everything figured out, they began to lock down the rest of the league. This defensive unit was near the bottom of the NFL for most of the season in yards allowed. However, the team still found a way to finish 12-5, which spells bad news for the rest of the league.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the Ravens’ defense is its versatility. Kyle Hamilton is the defense’s engineer who makes it all work, and with the addition of Malaki Starks in the 2025 NFL Draft, he gets to move closer to the line of scrimmage, where he dominated offenses in 2023. Starks also provides similar versatility, as he took on a similar role as Hamilton with Georgia in 2024.
With other defenders that have two, sometimes three-dimensional roles within the unit, there are countless schemes that Orr can throw at offenses to keep guessing, which should make Baltimore’s defense one of the best this season.
While the Ravens are uber-talented, a 15-2 expectation is still very high. It’s a prediction they are well within the realm of reaching. Yet, with so many talented teams in today’s NFL–including the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, and Kansas City Chiefs, all of whom Baltimore plays in the first four weeks–it’ll be a difficult mountain to climb.
