For two years in a row, the Ravens get the opportunity to play on Christmas Day. This year, it's a huge AFC clash with C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans in a game that will certainly impact playoff seeding.
Going into the game, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is riding the wave that's been his continued MVP chatter. Could he bring it home for a third time in his career? Jackson has been playing some of the best football we've ever seen him play, and he seems to just get better and better.
When talking to the media, this week, Jackson talked about a myriad of different topics but of course, one of them happened to be the idea of playing on the big holiday again.
More Ravens news:
Asked if it was special to be playing on Christmas for the second-straight year, Jackson laughed at the reporter's question initially. He took a second to gather himself after seeming to laugh off the idea that it was "special" to be playing on Christmas.
"I mean, it is. You know, it is. That means we're good. But at the same time, I do want to celebrate at home sometimes with my family," he said.
"I don't want to be playing on Christmas all the time," Jackson clarified.
Lamar Jackson believes NFL fans will be getting a gift of their own on Christmas Day
Although Jackson was adamant that he didn't want to continue playing on Christmas Day, he did have a message for fans who would be tuning into the game.
"It's a present for everyone. You get to see us play ... a lot of eyes on us. I believe a lot of people are going to be watching us at the right time," Jackson admitted.
Over his past four games, Jackson has finished with a quarterback rating over 100 and has a combined 13 touchdowns with only one interception. But, that's essentially on par with his entire season to this point.
With two games remaining, Jackson has thrown 37 touchdowns to only four picks. He's also rushed for 765 yards and three scores. It's truly remarkable.
So, with the playoffs nearing, Jackson is right. People will get a chance to see them play at just the right time. This is a team that's looked every bit of a contender as of late.
