The Baltimore Ravens are preparing to bounce back in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals. They’re coming off an infuriating Week 6 loss to the Cleveland Browns, and with another AFC North opponent standing in their way on Sunday, they need to improve their division record to 1-1. 0-2 would be a disastrous start to AFC North play.
While last Sunday’s loss was another blown lead, it wasn’t like the others. There were more encouraging signs than usual. The defense excelled for 59 of 60 minutes, and despite an ugly offense, there’s reason for hope if key players return.
Is Baltimore getting those reinforcements? Through Wednesday’s practice, it’s a mixed bag. Here’s all the latest Ravens news as the team readies for Week 7.

Lamar Jackson gets limited work in
Lamar Jackson was limited on Wednesday. Jackson hasn’t been available since injuring his ankle in Week 4, and Wednesday was the first time since then he was actually able to get some work in.

However, there were also reports of Jackson walking off the field with a limp. 17 days after the injury, it’s obvious he’s still hurting.
Per usual, the comments around the team were that Jackson’s working as hard as he can to get back, and he’s eager to play. It’s just a matter of whether his body lets him.
The Ravens obviously need Jackson back. After the offense’s disastrous performance in Cleveland, it’s become clear how much Tyler Huntley limits the offense. The passing game struggles to come to life, the running game hits a rut, and explosive plays are lacking. Despite all the talent, when your quarterback is restricted as a passer, things will look bland and lifeless at times.
Hopefully Jackson keeps ramping up on Thursday and Friday and is ready to suit up on Sunday. Jesse Minter has made it known that Jackson doesn’t need much practice to be active on game day.
We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out. As always, it’s another unpredictable Jackson injury.
Cam Jurgens is out of the noncontact jersey
Baltimore acquired Cam Jurgens two weeks ago, but he hasn’t started a game. Vega Ioane remained the starting center for those past two games. Now, though, Jurgens appears to be trending up for Sunday’s showdown with Cincy.
On Wednesday, Jurgens shed the red noncontact jersey. That’s the most positive sign yet as he progresses through the NFL’s concussion protocol. It certainly looks like he’s on track to play.
Jurgens has used the last couple of weeks to learn the playbook and understand what Declan Doyle and Dwayne Ledford want from him. It’s a complicated offense, and Ledford asks a lot from offensive linemen.
According to Minter, he’s fitting in great and should help the offense against the Bengals.
“The weekend was really good for him to get past the protocol, and also allow him a lot of time to pick up on things and study,” Minter said. “I think he’ll be in tune and be ready to be able to help up this week.”
If Jurgens is ready to play, the Ravens would have a solid five-man front. Ronnie Stanley, John Simpson, Cam Jurgens, Vega Ioane, and Roger Rosengarten are all starting-caliber players. Things could look a lot different on Sunday.
Jesse Minter still has confidence in Tyler Loop
Even with Jake Moody’s return, Jesse Minter still has unwavering confidence in Tyler Loop. The Moody reunion was likely a message to Loop that his results aren’t good enough right now, and Baltimore needs more from him.
By all accounts, Loop steadied himself on Wednesday.
Loop’s coming off a costly miss in Week 6, and Minter mentioned the second-year kicker responded well to the pressure and had a great practice.
When Moody was signed last time, Loop soared off to a terrific start. He hit a road bump in Cleveland; the Ravens will hope the results follow when the competition ramps up once again. If they don’t, though, Loop could be in big trouble.
