The Baltimore Ravens are on fire this season. Breaking news to anyone living under a rock, Baltimore's offense is the most explosive in the league. It's not even close. Following a 30-23 beatdown of the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night, the Ravens are rocking on offense.

With an offense that leads the league in yards per game (426.7) and ranks second in points per game (30.3), this team has become a literal nightmare for defenses to stop. While the numbers are impressive, it's honestly the eye test that passes with flying colors. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry make moving the ball down the field look effortless.

The offense is so explosive, it's drawing comparisons to one of the most legendary offenses in NFL history. FS1 analyst Chase Daniel recently dropped the mic on this week’s The Facility, dubbing the Ravens the “Greatest Show on Grass.” It is a nod to the St. Louis Rams' iconic “Greatest Show on Turf,” a nickname that still holds a mythical place in NFL lore.

Baltimore’s offense has always been innovative, but this year, they’ve unlocked something special. Whether it is the explosive plays or the efficiency in the red zone (a league-best 78.72% touchdown rate), the Ravens are putting on a clinic.

For those who need a quick history lesson, the “Greatest Show on Turf” was the nickname for the St. Louis Rams' record-breaking offense in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Led by MVP quarterback Kurt Warner, running back Marshall Faulk, and wide receivers Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt, the Rams were an unstoppable force. They revolutionized offensive football with their speed, creativity, and ability to stretch the field. Over three seasons, they scored more than 500 points each year, won a Super Bowl, and appeared in another.

Chase Daniel sees parallels between that legendary unit and the 2024 Ravens. “Everyone knows about The Greatest Show on Turf, right?” Daniel said on The Facility. “This Ravens team? They’re the Greatest Show on Grass.”

It is high praise, and it is hard to argue against it.

What makes Baltimore’s offense so dynamic this year is how balanced it is. Derrick Henry, one of the most dominant running backs of his generation, is having another monster season. The future Hall of Fame back is averaging six yards per carry and has already scored 13 touchdowns... in 12 games.

But this offense is not just about pounding the rock. Lamar Jackson has been unreal in the passing game, averaging 8.9 yards per attempt (second in the league) and completing 67.44% of his throws. Under offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Jackson has reached a new level as a passer, finding anyone and everyone who wants the ball.

Perhaps what stands out most is Baltimore’s efficiency. They lead the league in yards per play (7.0). Their ability to dominate in the red zone only reinforces how well-rounded they are.

Comparing them to the Rams’ legendary offense might sound bold, but if not this Ravens team, then who? They are explosive, efficient, and incredibly tough to stop. They put up points on everyone. If they keep this pace, “Greatest Show on Grass” might stick. However, the one massive thing evading Jackson and the Flock is a Super Bowl ring.

The Rams were able to score their way into the Lombardi, maybe Baltimore wil too.
