The Baltimore Ravens are starting to make the improvements fans were hoping to see this offseason. It began with the firing of John Harbaugh. Now, after hiring Jesse Minter, the coaching staff is already seeing improvements.

While the offensive, defensive, and special teams coordinator spots are still vacant, Minter is finding upgrades at key position groups. His first hire was Mike Mickens, who will come over from Notre Dame as the team’s defensive backs coach and defensive pass game coordinator. Those were areas where the Ravens saw significant problems in 2025.

Minter’s most recent move is the one that has fans amped the most thus far. On Monday, it was reported that the 42-year-old is looking to add Atlanta Falcons offensive line coach and run game coordinator Dwayne Ledford. He is expected to hold the same role in Baltimore.

After a disastrous year from the offensive line, former offensive line coach George Warhop was clearly on his way out. With Ledford, the Ravens may have found one of the best offensive line coaches and run game coordinators in the NFL. Not even a week into his tenure, and Minter is already making splash moves.

Ravens rushing attack set to take off under Dwayne Ledford

Despite the struggles from the offensive line, Baltimore’s rushing attack was as dangerous as anyone’s last season. They finished second in the league with 156.6 rushing yards per game, and only three yards behind the first-place Buffalo Bills.

Running back Derrick Henry also finished second in rushing yards with 1,595 yards, including 5.2 yards per carry and 16 touchdowns. King Henry showed that he was still a top back in the NFL.

If Ledford’s stats are any indication of what the future holds, he may have Henry back to nearing that 2,000-yard mark, even in his age-32 season. He helped develop Bijan Robinson into possibly the best and most well-rounded running back over the past two seasons, and will likely have a dynamic duo of Henry and Keaton Mitchell in Charm City.

Ledford has also had his fingerprints all over a stable offensive line in Atlanta, helping develop guys like guards Chris Lindstrom and Matthew Bergeron, and center Drew Dalman over the years. If he can have similar success up front, especially at the guard spot, Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry would be endlessly grateful.

As long as the move gets done as numerous sources expect it to, Baltimore’s offense should get back to its consistently dominant ways in 2026.
