The Baltimore Ravens are enduring one of the worst offensive stretches they have had with Lamar Jackson at quarterback. The air attack has failed to account for a touchdown in three straight games, and Jackson has completed well under 60% of his passes and thrown three interceptions in that stretch.
The turnovers have been a significant issue recently. They are tied for fourth in the NFL with 18 giveaways, including 10 fumbles and eight interceptions. While the interception rate is getting increasingly high, fumbles have been a common theme over the past few years.
Fumbles have been costly all year, especially in the biggest moments. Running back Derrick Henry had a horrible stretch early, fumbling three times in the team’s first three games, including two in the fourth quarter of tight contests.
While Henry has gotten his season back on track, the fumbleitis bit three other players in Baltimore’s Week 13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Jackson fumbled deep in his own territory, tight end Isaiah Likely fumbled before crossing the goal line, and wide receiver Zay Flowers fumbled on what would be the Ravens’ last realistic chance to get back in the game.
On Wednesday, the team’s first practice of the week, ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the coaching staff was putting a major emphasis on protecting the football. The offense kicked the day off with a ball security drill.

Ravens focused on fixing major problem ahead of Week 14
There could not be a better week to fix the fumbling issue than Week 14. The Steelers lead the league in fumbles forced with 16, as well as fumble recoveries with 12. Specifically, outside linebackers T.J. Watt and Nick Herbig have been dangerous anytime they have gotten close to the football, each forcing three thus far.
Holding onto the ball will be key, especially on passing plays. Watt has long been a thorn in Jackson’s side, and he has made a living off strip sacks. Add in the fact that Baltimore’s offensive line had been downright horrendous in 2025, and Watt and Pittsburgh’s defensive front could continue to make game-changing plays.
In the situation that the Ravens are in, they cannot keep making backbreaking errors like turning the football over. Week 14’s showdown with the Steelers is their biggest game of the season, and if the offense can cut down on the turnovers and continue to perform at a high level defensively, they should stand tall at the top of the AFC North by the time the matchup is over.
