The Baltimore Ravens have seriously upgraded their pass rush unit. It could be one of the biggest turnarounds of a single position group of the entire NFL offseason. From coaching to roster talent, there were improvements in pretty much every way imaginable.

Head coach Jesse Minter will be the catalyst in Baltimore’s drastic defensive shift. Off the edge, the team also signed Trey Hendrickson and selected Zion Young in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Tavius Robinson and Mike Green are due for much better years under Minter’s expertise, as well.

Of that exciting pass-rush group, the duo of Green and Young is incredibly intriguing. There’s a lot to love about what each of them did in college, and the two could blossom in 2026. They did that at OTAs, as in a recent article for BaltimoreRavens.com, Clifton Brown highlighted their great performance. Brown wrote:

“Both Green and Young had a strong third week of OTAs, which is a good sign heading into mandatory minicamp. To be a top five defense, the Ravens will need some of their younger players to step up. It's early, but Green and Young look frisky.”

Baltimore Ravens’ young duo could prove to be nasty in 2026

Of course, it’s always difficult to judge talent at OTAs. It’s more of a time to build chemistry and learn the playbook. For defensive linemen and pass rushers, especially, it can be tough to turn much of a corner because the pads aren’t on and live contact isn’t allowed. Clearly, that hasn’t stopped Mike Green and Zion Young from making a name for themselves.

For Young, he’s obviously the fresh face in town. Even as a second-round pick, he needs to make a great first impression, and he’s quickly checked that box. With his competitive nature and relentless motor, that’s no shock at all.

The Missouri product has already been a force on the defensive front. His calling card is his run defense, which, according to reports, has had no problem translating to the professional level. Again, the pads haven’t even gone on yet, but it sounds like he’s a difficult player to wipe out on run downs. Perhaps most importantly, that kind of play could help Green break out.

With Young potentially controlling the game in rushing sitautions, that could allow Green to be the game-wrecker we know he can be in passing situations. His explosiveness and bend make him a tough matchup, and although it didn’t translate into sack production in his rookie campaign (he totaled just 3.5 sacks), he could emerge in year two. He’s in a much better situation, looking at who he’ll be playing next to, along with a coaching staff that he’s been very impressed by.

With OTAs in the rearview mirror, the excitement in Charm City is only going to rise significantly. Next up is mandatory minicamp, and soon enough, we’ll be in training camp. Green and Young will be looking to make the most of these coming opportunities.
