The Baltimore Ravens are staring down an offseason filled with tough decisions. Their 2025 campaign was a disaster, and they clearly need significant upgrades. After hiring Jesse Minter, the pressure to get back on the right track is swinging into motion.

While the Ravens haven’t been a team known for emptying their wallet in free agency, that could change. They need far better protection for quarterback Lamar Jackson, some proven pass rushers to generate consistent pressure, and depth at the wide receiver and cornerback spots. The team also has a laundry list of pending free agents to tend to.

To do all that, Baltimore will have to free up a fair bit of money. According to Over the Cap, they currently have slightly over $13 million in effective cap space. That money could quickly be eaten up, though, and the Ravens may look to move these three players that Bleacher Report noted could be cut this offseason.

Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report highlighted three players from each NFL team who could become cap casualties in the coming months. For Baltimore, he chose defensive tackle Broderick Washington, running back Justice Hill, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey.

Using numbers from Over the Cap, Ballentine found that releasing Washington would free up $4 million with a pre-June 1 release, Hill would free up $3.1 million, and Humphrey would free up $7.3 million.

Every dollar counts, and unfortunately, it could mean that the Ravens will have to put an end to an era with some long-term veterans.

Washington is the most obvious cut. Ever since he signed that extension back in 2023, he’s been a negative asset. In 2025, he played in just two games due to injuries. Ultimately, his time in Baltimore should be up.

Hill also struggled with injuries in 2025. He’s shown he can still be effective in passing situations, though, flashing as a receiving threat and blocker. However, dynamic running back Keaton Mitchell needs to step into that backup role in 2026, which would show Hill the door.

As for Humphrey, Ballentine noted that he’s likely to stick around. As noted earlier, the Ravens need corner depth, and one injury-riddled year shouldn’t put an end to Humphrey's Baltimore tenure. However, if the team is strapped for cash, a post-June 1 cut of Humphrey could make a ton of sense.

In turn, these moves would give general manager Eric DeCosta a ton of flexibility in free agency. While the front office is known for building through the draft, they need to focus on adding proven talent at two spots: pass rusher and interior offensive line.

The pass rush was agonizingly ineffective in 2025. 30 sacks over the course of an entire season is not going to cut it. They already have Mike Green developing, making it crucial that they find a proven commodity on the opposite side. Perhaps a player like Trey Hendrickson could make some sense.

In terms of the interior offensive line, it starts with bringing back center Tyler Linderbaum. That’s the number one priority this offseason. After that, they can focus on offensive guard.

Emery Jones Jr. will likely take over the left guard spot, leaving a vacancy at right guard. The team can’t have Daniel Faalele back in that spot. Veterans like Kevin Zeitler or Joel Bitonio could be realistic adds with a potential influx of cash in DeCosta’s wallet.

Overall, the Ravens are unlikely to turn into this uber-aggressive team in free agency. But with several pressing needs, they could make some harsh decisions in the releases of Washington, Hill, and Humphrey, to free up money and deliver some big-time moves.
