The Baltimore Ravens' promising drive early in the second quarter against the Cleveland Browns took a concerning turn when wide receiver Zay Flowers exited the game with a knee injury.

The injury occurred on a 12-yard reception from Lamar Jackson at the Browns’ 12-yard line. Flowers was tackled by Cleveland's Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and immediately clutched his right knee as he hit the ground. The medical staff rushed to his side, and after a brief evaluation, Flowers was able to walk off the field under his own power but with a noticeable limp, assisted by trainers.

Flowers initially went to the medical tent for further examination but was soon escorted to the locker room, sparking concern among Ravens fans and teammates alike.

The drive continued without Flowers and ended in a 12-yard touchdown pass from Jackson to tight end Mark Andrews, extending Baltimore's lead to 14-0 with 11:03 remaining in the second quarter.

Zay Flowers injures his knee in the second quarter vs. Browns

At the time of his injury, Flowers had already contributed to the Ravens’ offense, logging a 12-yard reception on the play where he was hurt and a 9-yard end-around earlier in the quarter.

Flowers has been a vital part of Baltimore’s offense this season, consistently providing a spark with his speed and precise route-running. Entering this game, Flowers was among the league leaders in receiving yards and had been a key target for Lamar Jackson, earning his first Pro Bowl nod in his second season. He is the first and only Ravens receiver to ever make the Pro Bowl.

With the Ravens holding a 14-0 lead over the 3-13 Browns, it might make the most sense to keep Flowers out for the rest of the game—if they don't need him. The Ravens are in firm control of the game midway through the second quarter.

The Ravens need their breakout wide receiver for their upcoming playoff run.

He's officially questionable to return with a knee injury to his right knee.

Coming out of halftime, Zay Flowers has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

The full extent of Flowers' injury has yet to be determined. However, with the Ravens comfortably leading against the Bailey Zappe-led Browns, the necessity for Flowers in this game is minimal. Hopefully, Flowers' injury isn't too serious, and he'll be healthy for the Ravens' playoff run.
