The Baltimore Ravens have survived the chaos of roster cutdown day. Their 53-man roster for 2026 is set. Now, their focus turns to building another roster: the practice squad.
Each NFL team has 16 openings on their practice squad, with a potential extra spot available for a player from the International Player Pathway program. The Ravens took advantage of that last year with C.J. Okoye, who was recently traded to the New York Giants.
The practice squad will be filled with a strong mix of rookies and veterans. It’s an opportunity to develop young guys into roster-caliber players, while also stocking experienced talent who could be elevated on gamedays.
With injuries always lurking, too, the importance of the practice squad becomes even more important.
There’s a ton of roster manipulation that could happen here, so it’s a golden chance for general manager Eric DeCosta to work his magic.

Baltimore Ravens practice squad analysis
K'Von Wallace, S
K'Von Wallace finds himself back in Charm City. This is no surprise, as Wallace has mentioned he loves it in Baltimore. As a vested veteran, he didn't need to clear waivers. He made plays in training camp and preseason, and brings depth to an already loaded safety room.
Jonathan Ward, RB
Johnathan Ward looked really good in his preseason reps. In the preseason finale, he took 7 carries for 53 yards and a touchdown. He looked explosive out there, firing through the line of scrimmage whenever he touched the ball. Ward also saw some opportunities as a kick returner.
David Olajiga, DL
David Olajiga comes via London and will be the team's International Pathway program player. It's a free spot that the Ravens are wise to use on a player who looked strong over the last month.
Rayshaun Benny, DL
More defensive line depth, and the Ravens may have gotten away with robbery here. Rayshaun Benny was praised as a draft steal, and looked the part this summer. Many worried he'd be a loss on the waiver wire, but he sneaks back on the practice squad.
Adisa Isaac, EDGE
Adisa Isaac had a disappointing stint on Baltimore's active roster. Injuries always presented a difficult roadblock. He remains a Raven, though. With a healthier stretch, there could be hope for the former third-round pick.
Kaimon Rucker, EDGE
Kaimon Rucker was in the middle of a three-way competition for the team's final pass-rusher spot. He lost the battle, but he'll be back on the practice squad for a second-straight year. He keeps flashing in preseason action, so Rucker will be a good developmental piece to have.
Nick Dawkins, C
For a team that has uncertainty at center, the Ravens could use all the depth they can get. While Nick Dawkins didn't do much this summer, he'll be a face to turn to in the case of an emergency.
Gerad Lichtenhan, OT
The Ravens have another returning member from their 2025 practice squad. Gerad Lichtenhan saw a ton of snaps this preseason, and he had a real chance to make the 53-man roster. Luck didn't go his way, but with a little bit more seasoning on the practice squad, he could find his way onto the roster on gamedays.
Carl Jones, LB
Carl Jones is back. This felt like one of the many obvious practice squad signings. He's been with the team since December 2025, and is a guy who can contribute on special teams in a pinch.
Xavier Guillory, WR
Xavier Guillory looked like he was taking significant strides in training camp. Unfortunately, there wasn't any place for him in the active roster's receiver room. He earns a practice squad spot, though.
Chris Moore, WR
Chris Moore is a core special teamer who may see some opportunities with the active roster this year. He made a strong push against the Washington Commanders, but like Guillory, he was never going to make the team.
Amani Oruwariye, CB
Keep the familarity coming. Amani Oruwariye is another face returning to Charm City for another year. He was in a similar spot to K'Von Wallace, where his presence and experience was valued, just not enough to force other guys off the 53-man.
Dominic DeLuca, LB
Dominic DeLuca has some juice to him. He played with his hair on fire throughout the preseason. When he made a play, he made it with authority. He's a member of another talented undrafted free agent class in Baltimore.
Ty Pezza, TE
As long as the Ravens opted to keep a tight end stashed on their practice squad, Ty Pezza was going to come back. He saved his best for last in the preseason, hauling in all five of his targets for 47 yards.
Jake Moody, K
The Ravens have a kicking competition. Jake Moody was signed to the practice squad, and unfortunately, he's just another kicker that has struggled across his NFL career. He was dynamite at Michigan, and the overlap with Jesse Minter during that tenure likely played a role in this move.

Corey Bullock, OL
Corey Bullock is headed to the Carolina Panthers. The Maryland product made the team last year, but with an offensive guard overhaul, his spot went from probable to unlikely.
