The Baltimore Ravens have the most pressing coaching moves out of the way. They brought in Jesse Minter to replace John Harbaugh, and they’ve built a stout staff around the 42-year-old. Offensive coordinator Declan Doyle and defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver are two of the brightest young minds in the sport, and have a golden opportunity to continue to grow with some elite talent in Charm City.
Still, there are plenty of vacancies left to fill. Many of Harbaugh’s guys, like special teams coordinator Chris Horton, followed him to the New York Giants, and others sought out new opportunities elsewhere, with Minter now in charge. Minter is slowly filling out the remaining spots, and he continues to do so in an impressive manner.
Two of the most recent hires bring a level of familiarity to Minter's coaching staff in 2026. The team announced they hired defensive line coach Lou Esposito on Thursday and hired offensive pass game coordinator Marcus Brady on Friday.
Marcus Brady and Lou Esposito add familiarity to Ravens’ staff under Jesse Minter
Marcus Brady
Marcus Brady has been by Minter’s side over the past two seasons. He served as the passing game coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers from 2024 to 2025, joining the team's staff in the same year as Minter. At 46 years old, Brady not only brings a strong relationship with Minter but also plenty of coaching experience.
Brady began his coaching career in the Canadian Football League, coaching there from 2009 to 2017. His NFL coaching career began with the Indianapolis Colts, working with the quarterbacks from 2018 to 2020. From 2021 to 2022, he was the Colts' offensive coordinator, but was fired midway through that 2022 season. After that, he was on the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive staff from 2022 to 2023.
Brady’s most recent stint as passing game coordinator with the Chargers wasn’t flashy. In both years, his passing unit finished in the bottom half of the league in passing yards per game. While much of the blame could fall on former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who Ravens fans are all too familiar with, it remains a disappointing stint for Brady.
Regardless, he’s worked with some outstanding quarterbacks in Jalen Hurts and Justin Herbert, and now he gets to work with Lamar Jackson.
Lou Esposito
Minter was never on the same coaching staff as Lou Esposito. The first-year head coach left his job as defensive coordinator with the Wolverines a year before Esposito joined that Michigan staff. Still, he worked under former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore, a system Minter is very familiar with.
From 2024 to 2025, Esposito coached some of the better defensive lines in the college ranks. In 2024, he helped develop two 2025 first-round picks, Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Mason Graham (fifth overall) and Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Kenneth Grant (13th overall). That season, the Wolverines finished fourth in yards allowed per game. Esposito has also been one of the better recruiters in college.
Like many of the other hires thus far, Brady and Esposito are relatively young. Brady is 46 years old, and Esposito is 48 years old. While there may be a learning curve, the sky is the limit for this new Baltimore coaching staff.
