Ravens rock coolest helmet in football tonight against Bengals
By Matt Sidney
If there’s one thing the Baltimore Ravens do well, it’s bringing a little extra swagger to primetime. Tonight, the Ravens are turning up the style. Against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 10, the Ravens will debut their much-anticipated “Purple Rising” helmets.
Fans have been waiting for this since the team revealed them earlier this season, and let’s just say: these are no ordinary helmets.
Imagine a deep, metallic purple shell, a fierce gold facemask, and a front-facing raven logo with those infamous red eyes. These helmets are bold, classic, and just intimidating enough to make them the perfect match for the Ravens’ Color Rush uniforms.
The “Purple Rising” helmet marks the Ravens’ first alternate headgear since the franchise launched in 1996, and fans are pumped to finally see them in action.
Ravens players have incredible reactions to the new look
Baltimore’s players have had some strong takes on the new look.
Wide receiver Rashod Bateman thinks this helmet is hands-down the best alternate the team has tried out, saying, “I’d definitely say it’s the best thing that we’ve got working right now, for sure. We all like it.” Bateman’s ready to see what these purple domes look like under the lights, and let’s be real, so are we.
Center Tyler Linderbaum, known for keeping it real, said, “It’s cool to switch some things up every once in a while. I think the fans will like it. That’s probably the most important thing. Screw what we think.” Spoken like a true Raven: he knows the energy from fans is what really drives this team.
As long as Baltimore backs the new look, that’s all that matters.
Cornerback Arthur Maulet couldn’t hold back his excitement either. “Purple is for royalty and loyalty,” he said, adding that this color scheme just feels right at home.
The history behind the "Purple Rising" helmets
This is more than just a flashy helmet. For Baltimore, this look is a throwback to the franchise’s roots, echoing that early Baltimore grit while turning up the intimidation factor. The front-facing logo, last seen as part of the original Ravens logo system, brings back that classic Ravens style: aggressive, stylish, and one-of-a-kind.
And if these purple lids look anything like they did in practice, they’re going to be pure fire under the lights at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Ravens aren’t just taking the field with a fresh helmet; they’re putting the AFC North on notice with a look that screams Baltimore. So tune in tonight as the Ravens fly into primetime with a helmet that’s as bold as their play.
