The Baltimore Ravens are leaning toward a complete revamp this offseason. After such a disappointing 2025 season, there’s a lot of work to do to build themselves back into a contender in 2026. And they’ve already started that transformation.
The Ravens have been commended for their hard work on the coaching front thus far. They hired one of the top young head coaches, Jesse Minter, and added up-and-coming coordinators in Declan Doyle and Anthony Weaver. Still, they have a ton of roster holes they need to address.
It would be an absolute disaster of an offseason if Baltimore doesn’t address their need for pass rush help. With rookie outside linebacker Mike Green on one side, they need a proven stud to complement him. They could use a ton of depth, too, and Matt Miller’s latest mock draft gives the Ravens just that.
Miller dropped his predictions for what will happen in the first two rounds in a mock draft for ESPN. With the 14th, he had the Ravens selecting Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, adding a running mate for two-time Pro Bowl wideout Zay Flowers. With their second pick, Miller gave the Ravens Alabama edge rusher LT Overton at pick 45. Miller wrote:
“Overton is a tweener edge rusher at 6-foot-5 and 278 pounds, but his upside as a pass rusher makes him an intriguing prospect in a 30 front. The Ravens have to get younger and stronger on the edge of the defense.”
Overton would replace part of the void left by outside linebacker Odafe Oweh when he was traded early in 2025. He fits this team to near perfection.
Ravens restart pass rush unit with LT Overton in recent mock draft
As long as Ozzie Newsome is in the building, the Ravens are going to be connected to Alabama players come draft time. Newsome himself went to Alabama, and during his time as general manager in Charm City, he drafted many prospects who played for the Crimson Tide. Some of those include C.J. Mosley, Marlon Humphrey, Courtney Upshaw, and Terrence Cody. Newsome is still the Executive Vice President of Player Personnel, and he could add another Bama product in LT Overton.
While Green provides explosiveness and bend, Overton would bring size and physicality on the opposite side. He’s a dominant run stopper who anchors the edge and uses violent hands to win on passing downs.
At 21 years old, Overton is still developing his pass rush chops. He had just seven sacks across four seasons. However, the potential is sky high. His size, matched with enticing athleticism, makes him a high-ceiling player. His ability to play inside and outside on the defensive line could make him a strong fit in Baltimore, too, as the team could use help everywhere on the defensive front.
If the Ravens do select Overton with their second-round pick, they still have a lot of work to do. They cannot head into the offseason without a proven star on the edge. Overton would help, but he’s not a solution. At least not yet.
