The Baltimore Ravens need their guys to step up in 2026. Almost everyone on the roster underperformed last year in a season that every fan would like to wipe from their memory. The team cannot afford to go through the same struggles.
The Ravens acted with urgency this offseason to ensure they turn the corner. They hired Jesse Minter to be their next head coach, and while he has a lot to prove, the pressure is on the players to bounce back and prove they’re still one of the best teams in the NFL.
When you ask fans who has the most to prove, a common answer might be Tyler Loop. The young kicker enjoyed consistency in his rookie season, but the big moments got to him. Unfortunately, missed game-winner in Week 18 is all that anyone remembers from 2025.
Thankfully, it seems like Loop is showing signs of a breakthrough.
Baltimore Ravens getting early statement from young player at OTAs
Baltimore started OTAs on Monday, and Tuesday was the first session open to the media. Multiple sources reported that Loop had a perfect day on six tries, and what made it all the more impressive was the fact that he made a booming kick from 63 yards out.
Tyler Loop just went 6-for-6 on field goals from 25, 33, 38, 43, 48 and 63 yards.

That's what we need from him.
Loop struggled significantly with range in 2025. He was a complete non-factor. It was rough to see.
Sure, he did fine with an 88.2% success rate on 34 tries, but his results from 50-plus were downright horrendous. He made just one of four attempts from that range, with his longest make being from 52 yards away. There wasn't a lot of confidence there, and undoubtedly, his inability to hit from deep was one of Baltimore’s many troubling factors that season.
It looks like that could be changing after his hot start to OTAs. Sure, we’ve seen this from him before, as he made several kicks from 50-plus in camp last year, but the extra experience could allow Loop to write a different story in 2026. Not everyone’s going to be perfect in their rookie campaign, and the stage is his to develop into the kicker that the Ravens desperately need.
When the Ravens selected Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, he had some high expectations to live up to. The organization has been known for having great kickers between Matt Stover and Justin Tucker, and in total, they’ve seen nine Pro Bowl nods at that position. Evidently, Loop didn’t pass the test with flying colors to start out his career; however, things are falling into place for him to redeem himself this year. Hopefully, he keeps up this pace.
