The Baltimore Ravens have a lot of revenge to hand out in 2026. Their schedule released on Thursday, and now they know when they’ll get those opportunities. Among the top orders of business is settling the score with the Buffalo Bills.
Baltimore will travel to Buffalo to take on the Bills in Week 8. The game will kick off at 1 p.m., which is a major shock. Ravens/Bills feels like one game that is guaranteed for primetime, but apparently not this year. I guess the NFL wasn’t into the idea of two new head coaches squaring off.
The Jesse Minter and Joe Brady storyline adds a ton of excitement to this year’s contest. And according to the site expert for BuffaLowDown, Brandon Ray, there’s nothing that he’d like more than to beat Minter. Ray wrote:
“There's been a lot of talk about how the Ravens hiring Minter was a home run, but the Bills hiring Joe Brady was laughable. They are both rookie head coaches, but Brady has been in the building for years now. He knows the culture and is well-respected by his players. Minter is starting from scratch and despite him being a solid defensive play caller, Brady is a better offensive play caller.”
Baltimore Ravens hit with stark message from Buffalo Bills expert
Ravens vs. Bills can always go either way. You have two of the most high-powered offenses in the NFL, led by two of the top-three quarterbacks in the NFL, going up against each other. You’re always bound to see fireworks coming from both ends, and as we’ve seen over the past two years, these games are truly unpredictable. It’s pure excitement until the final whistle.
Both teams decided to go in a different direction on the coaching front this offseason. Baltimore fired John Harbaugh and hired Jesse Minter, and Buffalo fired Sean McDermott and hired Joe Brady. Still, the two teams remain in the middle of their competitive window, and success should be back on the menu in 2026. If you had to compare the two head coaches, it should be Minter who holds the edge, not Brady.
Like Brady, Minter does have experience with the Ravens organization. He was a part of the defensive coaching staff from 2017 to 2020, and while that may have been a long time ago, there are still some relationships that exist on the roster. More importantly, he’s one of the best defensive minds in football.
Calling Minter a “solid defensive play caller” is a monstrous understatement. Perhaps the understatement of the year. The 42-year-old coach had just two years of experience as defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Chargers, and they were two DOMINANT years. In terms of points allowed, he led the best defense in 2024 and the ninth-best in 2025. Now, he heads to Charm City, where there is arguably more talent.
In comparison, Brady’s offenses in Buffalo over that same two-year stretch were just as successful when it came to scoring. However, there were some inconsistencies in 2025 when it came to the passing attack. Yes, the Bills traded for D.J. Moore this offseason, but that could still be an area that Minter can lock down if Brady’s questionable passing attack continues.
Of course, head coaching duties are completely different. Sure, Minter will call the shots on defense, and Brady will continue to do the same on offense, but the gameplanning process intensifies for the two first-year head coaches. We’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out in Week 8.
