The Baltimore Ravens signed DeAndre Hopkins last offseason hoping that he could be a nice veteran presence in the wide receiver room. Unfortunately, Hopkins didn't produce the way the Ravens were hoping, finishing the season with just 330 yards receiving and two trips into the end zone.
As much as it'd be awesome to see him return, it's not a shock that Hopkins won't be back in Ravens purple in 2026. He does have a wish that has gone unfilled, however, and Ravens fans won't like what D-Hop had to say this past weekend.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Hopkins was asked about the one quarterback he hasn't played with who he'd like to catch passes from. Hopkins' answer was division rival Joe Burrow.
"I think Joe is one of the best. I love his game, his toughness. He took his team to a Super Bowl early in his career, and I feel like he can get back there with a little bit of help."
DeAndre Hopkins said he wants to play with Joe Burrow
The good news here is that Hopkins simply just said he'd like to play with Burrow. Also, he wasn't super productive with the Ravens last year or with the Chiefs during the back half of the 2024 season.
The bad news is that it's always painful seeing a player that once called Baltimore home and donned the Ravens purple and black go on to play for a division rival. The Bengals already have a talented wide receiver room, too, so would they even really need Hopkins at this point? Would he be getting much playing time in Cincinnati?
Ravens fans are likely hoping that Hopkins picks a team outside of the AFC North. If he does end up getting his wish granted and gets a chance to play with Burrow, hopefully it's as lackluster as his Ravens tenure was.
