The Baltimore Ravens handed the Denver Broncos their fourth loss of the year with a commanding 41-10 victory today.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was his usual self, dominating the Bronco's defense with 280 passing yards and three touchdown passes.

The Ravens looked poised all game. Their offense was as unstoppable as ever before. Baltimore running back Derrick Henry continues to amaze. He ended the game with 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns, with a 27-yard reception. Second-year receiver Zay Flowers continues his breakout campaign with five receptions for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

Baltimore’s defense rebounded impressively after being picked apart by the Browns in Week 8, finally looking like the dominant unit fans have been waiting to see. It’s a relief to watch them making critical third-down stops and shaking off the dropped interception woes.

Heading into Week 9, much of the talk centered on Baltimore’s defense and whether rising Broncos quarterback Bo Nix could exploit the Ravens' vulnerabilities. While Nix didn't necessarily play poorly, the loss to the Ravens further pushed the narrative that the Purple and Black do not lose to rookie QBs at M&T Bank Stadium.

In fact, they utterly dominate against inexperienced signal-callers.

Baltimore Ravens blow the doors off Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos in Week 9 rout

Nix ended the afternoon with 223 passing yards and an interception. He added 36 yards on the ground and a receiving touchdown. Overall, he had a decent day. However, playing a team like Baltimore, decent rarely gets the job done.

Baltimore has improved to an impressive 20-2 record against rookie QBs at M&T Bank Stadium since 2008. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix joins the ranks of talented young players, like Commanders' rookie of the year favorite Jayden Daniels and 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud, who couldn’t manage a win in Baltimore.

Nix and the Broncos entered the Week 9 matchup riding high, having won five of their last six games. The young quarterback had earned plenty of praise for his recent offensive performances, but as is often the case, the context told a deeper story, and it certainly did here.

Denver's five wins came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, and the Carolina Panthers. Coming into Week 9, those teams had a combined 11-29 record. We're not saying they were beating up on the NFL's worst, but we're not not saying it.

Nix certainly looks every bit the future franchise quarterback for the Denver Broncos. However, like 19 other rookie QBs since 2018, he learned the hard way that M&T Bank Stadium is a tough proving ground for inexperienced signal-callers.

Baltimore secures a well-earned sixth win of the season, providing a much-needed boost. Next up, they face the Cincinnati Bengals under the lights on Thursday Night Football.
