The NFL finally decided on the Justin Tucker offseason allegations, suspending the 35-year-old kicker for the first 10 games of the 2025 season. The league's decision was due to violations of the Personal Conduct Policy, and Tucker will receive no pay during the 10-week suspension.
The suspension will take full effect on August 26, the NFL’s roster cutdown day and the former Raven will be eligible to be reinstated on November 11. If he remains unsigned, Tucker can still serve the suspension as a free agent. If signed, he may participate in activities before the regular season.
NFL cracks down on former Ravens kicker after numerous allegations
The Ravens released Tucker on May 5, just over a week after they selected rookie kicker Tyler Loop in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. While the team mentioned it was a football decision, the trouble Tucker had gotten into this past offseason was hard to ignore. It was expected that he would receive a fine or suspension, and the league chose to suspend him for over half of the regular season.
While Tucker maintains his innocence, it sounds like the free-agent kicker will serve his suspension. There has not been much reported interest from any team since the Ravens released him, but now that the league has closed their investigation, Tucker will look to put the allegations behind him and begin the search for a new home.
“[Justin Tucker] stands by his previous statements. In order to put this difficult episode behind him and get back on the field as soon as possible, we have advised Justin to accept this resolution and close this matter,” Tucker’s representative, Rob Roche, said in a statement.
The seven-time Pro Bowler is the all-time points leader in Ravens’ history and is second in points among active players. He is coming off the worst season of his career and has struggled to hit from range in recent years. It is unclear what the interest will be like from the rest of the league following this decision.
