The Baltimore Ravens and general manager Eric DeCosta will have some decisions to make this offseason. One of those decisions involves one of the best players in franchise history: tight end Mark Andrews. Despite the lasting images of the AFC Divisional Playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills, Andrews has carved out a very good career for himself and is the Ravens’ all-time touchdown leader. The NFL, however, is a business.
Andrews carries a $16.9 million cap hit as he enters the final year of his current contract. With Isaiah Likely waiting in the wings to take over as the top tight end, DeCosta could choose to move on from Andrews. If he does, who could take Andrews' spot on the roster? Here are some free agency and draft options that DeCosta could pair with Likely if Andrews isn’t back.
Four TE options for the Ravens if they move on from Mark Andrews
Zack Ertz
Ertz is a savvy veteran coming off a solid season as the Washington Commanders' go-to tight end for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Ertz compiled 66 catches for 654 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2024. However, he’ll soon be turning 35 years old, and if he’s willing to take a reduced role behind Likely, the Ravens would have a formidable, high-reward complement.
Tyler Conklin
Conklin is one of the more underrated tight ends in the NFL. He’s reliable and has good hands. Over the last four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets, Conklin has recorded 231 receptions, 2,215 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He’d be a solid, steady pickup for DeCosta and the Ravens.
Hayden Hurst
A reunion with a former first-round pick could benefit the Ravens. Hurst has bounced around the league since Baltimore traded him after the 2019 season. He’s played for the Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers, and most recently, the Los Angeles Chargers.
His best seasons were in 2020 with the Falcons (56 receptions, 571 yards, 6 touchdowns) and in 2022 with the Bengals (52 receptions, 414 yards, 2 touchdowns). Hurst was also a good complement to Andrews in 2019. He dealt with post-traumatic amnesia due to a concussion in 2023 and suffered a hip injury in 2024.
Terrance Ferguson
In the draft, Terrance Ferguson could be a good late Day 2 or early Day 3 pickup. Standing 6-5 and weighing 255 pounds out of Oregon, Ferguson was very productive for the Ducks last season. His production has steadily increased at Oregon, and he is projected in the NFL as a slot-receiving tight end. If the Ravens want to go younger at the position, Ferguson is a name to keep an eye on in the draft.
