Training camp has been going well for the Baltimore Ravens, but Tuesday’s practice ended on a bad note, with veteran tight end Isaiah Likely getting injured on the final rep of 1-on-1s. Likely was carted off the field and to the facility, before getting off the cart to limp his way into the building.

Head coach John Harbaugh immediately addressed the injury after practice, revealing the tight end rolled his ankle on the play, and that led to the injury. While the severity and specifics of the injury are still unknown, Harbaugh said the team will know more tomorrow following an MRI, but already speculated Likely will probably be out a few weeks.

Ravens could be without Isaiah Likely for a few weeks after the tight end rolled ankle

The team still has to wait for specifics, but Harbaugh gives the indication that Likely avoided anything significant, which would be great news. Additionally, with it still being July, an injury that sidelines him for a couple of weeks wouldn’t affect his regular-season availability. Baltimore and all of its fans are hoping that’s the case, and that the tight end will be back on the field sooner rather than later.

Likely is coming off the best season of his career, catching 42 passes for 477 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games last year. While those numbers were career highs, everyone is expecting him to blow past those marks in 2025, and elevate his game to a new level. With this upcoming season being his fourth in the NFL, and it being a contract year for him, expectations are high. Many believe this could be the season Likely supplants Mark Andrews as the team’s top tight end, and officially makes himself a star in the league.

For him to do those things, he must first get healthy. So hopefully, the Ravens will receive the news they’re looking for after the further tests, and Likely doesn’t have to be sidelined for long.
