The Baltimore Ravens showed improvement in several aspects of the game in their Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Still, it has been a disastrous start, and at 1-5, their path to the playoffs is tough.
One area that has been a thorn in their side all year long has been the offensive line. It is quite clear that if the unit were not so sloppy, the story of their first six games would be completely different.
While the Ravens had one of the highest-scoring offenses early on, the offensive line has struggled from the get-go. In pass blocking situations, they rank 29th in sacks allowed per game with 3.3, and the run blocking has not been any better. They constantly allow opposing defensive lines to clog lanes, and running back Derrick Henry usually has the odds stacked against him on most carries.
Head Coach John Harbaugh highlighted last week that the offensive line could see changes in the near future.
John Harbaugh was asked if he's considered personnel changes along the offensive line:

"Oh, yeah. Everything is on the table. ... There are guys who are still in that area where they still have to prove themselves, and those guys are under consideration all the time. They are…
On Tuesday, Harbaugh doubled down, and with the team heading into their bye week in Week 7, now could be the perfect time to reshuffle the offensive front.
“As soon as we feel like a guy like [Emery Jones Jr.] or anyone else is really ready, we would [look at changes for the offensive line],” Harbaugh said. “We have a couple of veteran guys that have been practicing that would have a shot that we’ll take a look at that this week. That stuff is definitely on the table.”
Ravens’ offensive line is a major culprit for the slow start
Most players on the offensive line have been disappointing in 2025. The guard duo of Andrew Vorhees and Daniel Faalele is one of the worst in the NFL. Right tackle Roger Rosengarten has had troubling moments but is making progress. Center Tyler Linderbaum is struggling as a pass blocker, and left tackle Ronnie Stanley continues to be hit by the injury bug.
The guard play is where the changes Harbaugh is referring to are expected to come. The pocket tends to collapse from the interior on dropbacks, and the interior run game is a mess. Vorhees showed improvements in the zone rushing attack Baltimore used in Week 6, but Faalele continued to showcase his lack of body control.
A lot will lie on the shoulders of backup linemen Ben Cleveland and Corey Bullock if the Ravens want to turn this year around. Bullock saw one snap against the Rams, coming in as the sixth lineman on the team’s failed fourth-down attempt from the one-yard line at the end of the first half. He did his job on that play, which could encourage the coaching staff enough to give him more opportunities to prove himself during the bye.
Emery Jones Jr. could be a future option, but he is still getting adjusted to the NFL level. He returned to practice two weeks ago after injuring his labrum in rookie minicamp. As a third-round pick, he could quickly become an intriguing option on the interior once he is ready to play.
The offensive line is not the only change that needs to be made in the coming weeks. Problems lie across the offense, defense, and coaching staff, and Baltimore will have to take a long, hard look in the mirror if they truly want to salvage the 2025 campaign.
