Baltimore Ravens fans are widely thrilled about the hiring of new head coach Jesse Minter. While Minter has an impressive defensive background that will rejuvenate an underperforming Ravens defense, maintaining a good relationship with Lamar Jackson is perhaps the most important aspect of the job. Luckily, Minter is on the right page with Jackson. During his introductory press conference, Minter had high praise for Lamar and his focus on building a team identity around him.

"I just look forward to connecting with him [Lamar], helping him become the best version of himself. Creating a team identity that allows him to thrive, which he's already proven to be, the best player in the National Football League. And put a team around him that allows him to reach that ultimate goal of bringing a Super Bowl back to Baltimore,"  Minter said.

Minter echoed these statements during a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee show.

Undoubtedly, Minter's praise and belief in Lamar should be a welcome sign for Ravens fans. And while Lamar didn't have final say in the Ravens' coaching searches, his input was valued -- as such, it's fair to assume Jackson also views Minter in a high light.

Minter is setting a clear standard

During this past season, there was some clear disconnect between Lamar and the coaching staff. Furthermore, it never felt like John Harbaugh truly viewed him as the centerpiece of the team identity, and frankly, the team didn't really have an identity last year. Of course, the entire team has to have some sort of collective identity, but embracing your star player and building a team identity with your star in mind is a great place to start.

Minter's confidence in Jackson speaks volumes, and it echoes exactly how the fanbase feels about him. Lamar is the Ravens franchise, essentially. Yes, of course, not in a literal sense, but the point is he means everything to the team and the fanbase.

The two-time MVP has already shown that he can be the best quarterback in the league. With a new system around him, and if the Ravens win the Super Bowl, he could be considered the consensus best QB in the league. That starts with belief from your head coach, and Minter is proving that his confidence in Lamar is through the roof.

Additionally, Minter is clearly making it the goal to win the Super Bowl this year -- as he should. Conversely, Harbaugh refused to put these expectations on the Ravens and, more so, focused on "the process." Having complete alignment is a key step in moving toward their Super Bowl goals, and Minter is making the bar clear from day one.

Ultimately, Minter looks like a home run hire, and his approval rating among Ravens fans is sky high.
