The Baltimore Ravens are set to be impacted heavily by their decision to fire their former head coach, John Harbaugh. It has finally been confirmed that Harbaugh will sign a deal to become the next head coach of the New York Giants, and many pending free agents and coaches will likely follow him as a result of that.

Whoever becomes the next head coach of the Ravens will almost certainly bring in a new staff. It’s already been speculated that offensive coordinator Todd Monken is leaning toward joining the Giants, which should make for some interesting turnover in Charm City in the coming months.

One coach that the Ravens could be freed from is offensive line coach George Warhop. Sports Illustrated reported that the Giants requested to interview Warhop. If he departs, Baltimore fans would be ecstatic.

Ravens may lose George Warhop this offseason

If Harbaugh brings Warhop with him to New York, it would be one final gift the 18-year head coach leaves the Ravens organization. Just as it was time to move on from Harbaugh, Warhop’s tenure has long since run its course. It’s only been two seasons, but they’ve been a disastrous two seasons.

Since Warhop took over in 2024, the offensive line has been a complete mess. Three out of the five starters up front have looked solid. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley remains a stable piece as Lamar Jackson’s blindside protector, center Tyler Linderbaum is going to his third-straight Pro Bowl, and right tackle Roger Rosengarten has provided starting-caliber play.

Still, Warhop’s blocking schemes have caused trouble even for those quality starters. For the two culprits causing the biggest issues in 2025, though, Warhop’s coaching has only made them worse. Those two players are guards Andrew Vorhees and Daniel Faalele.

Vorhees struggled in his first full year as a starter. And after dropping the starting job to Patrick Mekari in 2024, it looks like he may be in danger of losing that spot again. This year, he posted just a 54.6 overall grade, per Pro Football Focus. Rookie offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr. could be hot on his tail for left guard reps this offseason. Jones got in on the rotation late in the season, which doesn’t look great for Vorhees.

On the other hand, Faalele is likely done in Baltimore. He is a pending free agent and did nothing to persuade the front office to give him an extension. Sure, the Ravens could use o-line depth, but Faalele was simply one of the worst guards in football. They need to put more attention toward improving the right guard position this offseason.

The Ravens can’t go into 2026 with the same issues up front. The countless miscues plagued Lamar Jackson, which partially led to his injury-riddled season. If Warhop departs, that will be the first step in the right direction.
