Absolutely delusional.

Baltimore Ravens fans are done with John Harbaugh. After the team quickly fired him this offseason and hired Jesse Minter, all the excitement has been surrounding the new era set to take off in 2026. Harbaugh has made it difficult for fans to forget about him, though.

Harbaugh made free agency pretty agonizing for the Ravens. He brought in four of his former players, including Isaiah Likely, Patrick Ricard, Ar’Darius Washington, and Jordan Stout, each of whom was loved in Charm City. Baltimore was able to make some of their own big-time signings, and now, fans are watching Harbaugh make a fool of himself.

In a recent interview on Pardon My Take, Harbaugh talked a little bit about the 2025 campaign in Baltimore. But the way he talked about it was absolutely comical.

Really, John? There’s just no way you actually think that.

John Harbaugh’s paints delusional picture of Baltimore Ravens’ 2025 season

Harbaugh is an excellent coach. He did incredible things with the Ravens through his 18 years there, and he should be able to get the New York Giants on the winning track. However, it’s also true that 2025 was a complete disaster, and he needed to be fired. The team was lost under his leadership.

For him to say that they did a great job of coaching that 2025 team is utterly insane. Their 1-5 start consisted of a couple of massive blown leads to the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions, which had boneheaded moments that you’d see from a poorly led team. That was a commonality all year, as they never got a grip of the big moments, falling short time and time again.

While the players certainly deserve their fair share of the blame, a lot of what happened last year was on the coaching staff. On offense, the playcalling and gameplanning were incredibly inconsistent. On defense, it was a full-on horror story; possibly the worst year they’ve ever had on that side. The team lacked a sense of urgency and struggled to keep it together for all four quarters. If that’s excellent coaching, then sure, I guess Harbaugh’s right.

Sure, the bounce back late in the year was pretty inspiring. The Ravens put themselves in position to win the AFC North and make the playoffs in Week 18. However, they fell back on their old ways late in that pivotal contest, blowing a fourth-quarter lead twice and missing a game-winning field goal as time expired. I guess that’s good coaching, too.

Sometimes you just have to admit you messed up. 2025 was far from Harbaugh’s best work. In fact, it was among his worst—maybe a bottom-two season of his. As he moves on to his next chapter in the Big Apple, he needs to move on. Last season was bad, and if he wants to find success with the Giants, he’ll need to readjust.
