The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 27-19, in Week 10, moving the team to 4-5 with eight games left in the season. It was a game that was way closer than it needed to be, but Baltimore was able to lock up the win with strong defensive play.
On defense, it was a well-coached game by Defensive Coordinator Zach Orr, as his unit was hunting the football all day and playing perhaps their most physical game of the season. The offense had problems throughout the day, but was able to do enough to keep a safe lead and leave Minnesota with the win.
For Head Coach John Harbaugh, he not only left U.S. Bank Stadium with the team's fourth win of the season, but he also left with a personal milestone: winning in every opposing city in the NFL.
John Harbaugh adds another milestone to impressive coaching resume
When you coach for 18 years, you have a good shot at checking off a career goal like this, but not many can say they have done it. Even those who do accomplish it tend to have coached for a team in each conference. Not Harbaugh.
Harbaugh had no idea that this was even possible heading into Sunday’s matchup. Following the game, when asked about his feelings about achieving such a feat, Harbaugh made it known how proud he is of this team for their fight.
“I did not realize [I’ve won in every opposing city],” Harbaugh said. “At the end of the game, I was pretty choked up inside…Just how hard [this team] has fought, how much they believe, how much courage they show. We’re just 4-5, we’re still under .500. So that’s where we’re at, and we recognize that. We know we’re gonna have a big, tough, knockdown, drag-out fight in Cleveland next week.”
While the Harbaugh critics have been loud in 2025 due to a lack of success in the playoffs over the last several seasons, and a disastrous 1-5 start this year, his leadership is clearly a huge reason for their current three-game winning streak. After looking dead in the water after seven weeks of action, the Ravens look poised to make some noise down the stretch.
After a 1-5 start, most teams would be out of playoff contention. Only four teams in NFL history have made the playoffs after getting off to such a start. Baltimore is showing some life, though. While you could say they are beating up on lesser competition, it is crystal clear that, despite games against mid to lower-level opponents, they are a completely different team than they were five weeks ago.
The offense is always a threat with quarterback Lamar Jackson under center, the defense is changing the game, and the special teams unit is doing all the little things right. Harbaugh has helped turn this season around, and his efforts are emphasized by this historic milestone.
