Former Baltimore Ravens kicker, Justin Tucker, who hasn’t played in the NFL since the conclusion of last season, was recently given his first opportunity by a new team. After completing a 10-game suspension this season, for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, Tucker was invited to a kicker tryout by the New Orleans Saints.

The veteran kicker was released by the Ravens in May of 2025, for what the franchise called a football decision. Tucker was, however, being investigated by the league for allegations of improper conduct at the time, after 16 massage therapists accused him of sexually inappropriate conduct. While the kicker denied all allegations, the league ultimately decided to suspend him for 10 games. Tucker, while unsigned, served that suspension, and is eligible to return if signed by a team.

Tucker spent 13 seasons in Baltimore, joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2012, and became a seven-time Pro Bowl kicker. However, in 2024, after five straight Pro Bowls, Tucker started to struggle. He had a career low 73.3% field goal percentage, making just 22-of-30 field goals. Even extra points became somewhat of a concern, with the kicker missing two out of 62.

With his kicking struggles, Baltimore decided to move on, drafting kicker Tyler Loop out of Arizona in the sixth round of the 2025 Draft. Tucker, on the other hand, was suspended, and no teams explored signing him. With his suspension now complete, one team, the Saints, are at least looking into the option of signing him, inviting him and other kickers in for a try out.

New Orleans, which fell to 2-9 on Sunday, has had struggles in the kicking game. Third-year kicker Blake Grupe is just 18-of-26, 69.2%, on field goals this season. On Sunday, he missed a 38-yard field goal, and a 47-yard field goal. As a result, New Orleans is ready to move on.
