Good news, Baltimore Ravens: Myles Garrett might be on the move, and the NFL world is watching closely. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year has reportedly requested a trade from the Cleveland Browns, sending shockwaves through the league. Garrett has been the face of Cleveland’s defense since being drafted first overall in 2017, but after a disastrous 3-14 season, it looks like he’s had enough.

The Browns' collapse is all about dysfunction. They have been stuck in a rut seemingly for decades. Garrett made it clear in December that he didn’t want to be part of a rebuild, and with Cleveland clearly heading in that direction, it’s no surprise he’s looking to take his talents elsewhere.

His desire to chase a Super Bowl has led to rampant speculation about where he might land next. Enter the Baltimore Ravens.

Baltimore already boasts one of the league’s best rosters, but a player like Garrett could take them from great to legendary. And while fans and analysts have been debating the possibility, one Ravens player decided to play with fire himself.

Lamar Jackson is all for the Ravens making a move for Myles Garrett

Shortly after news of Garrett’s trade request broke, Lamar Jackson took to social media and did what Lamar Jackson does—got people talking. He reposted a fan’s message that showed Garrett in a Ravens jersey while cheekily saying, "Purple suits you well... do you like crab cakes?" More importantly, a casual hint at the idea of the Ravens making a move for the defensive star.

That was all it took. From there, Ravens, Browns, and NFL fans alike came together to comment. They ranged from excitement to disbelief to some shade coming Lamar's way. Overall, the general feeling was there's no way Cleveland sends Garrett to its division rival. Crazier things have happened.

The reality? It’s complicated. Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the asking price for Garrett could be something like “a 1 and a 2. 1 and 2 3s. Throw a player in there.” That’s a steep cost, but not impossible. The real issue? Baltimore’s cap space—or lack of it.

The Ravens sit at around $6 million in available cap room, while Garrett carries a $19.7 million hit for 2025. Making this work would require major financial gymnastics, from restructures to extensions to possibly moving players off the books. Doable? Yes. Easy? Not at all.

Still, if Lamar Jackson is openly hyping the idea, you can bet general manager Eric DeCosta is at least picking up the phone. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that the Ravens aren’t afraid to go all-in when they smell an opportunity. And Myles Garrett? That’s the kind of opportunity that could help win championships.
