The Baltimore Ravens might be the most disappointing team in the 2025 NFL season, though none of that is the fault of reigning All-Pro quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is playing as well as he ever has. Unfortunately, Baltimore's lone saving grace, might miss his second game in a row due to a hamstring injury.

Jackson gave way to Cooper Rush in Week 5, and the result was one of the most humiliating Ravens games in franchise history. Fans may need to prepare for yet another game like that after the latest update.

Jackson did not practice again, which may be a sign that he is one again going to sit things out in a Week 6 matchup against Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams. The idea of Rush going toe-to-toe with Matthew Stafford and coming out as the winner seems right up there with expecting the Tooth Fairy to play defensive end.

While the Houston Texans do have one of the best defenses in the league for any quarterback to try to crack, going from Jackson under center to Rush is like finding out that Leonardo DiCaprio is being replaced by that annoying kid who played Banquo in your high school production of Macbeth and forgot his lines.

Rush looked non-functional against Houston. Deprived of Jackson's trademark mobility and playmaking, Rush's comically weak arm paired with an offensive line that has taken a step backward this season is a recipe for disaster no matter who is calling the shots.

The Ravens can do one of two things with Jackson's injury. They can either try to get him back as soon as possible, as the only chance this team has of competing for the AFC North crown is letting Jackson cook, or declare this season a lost cause and roll with Rush until Jackson is 120% healthy.

While Jackson alone gives the Ravens the firepower they need to beat everyone in the league, horrible defense and all, putting Rush in the game could be so destructive a move that it turns the Ravens into jobbers for however many games he has to go out there.
