The Baltimore Ravens are coming off an extremely disappointing season. That’s no secret. Much of that was due to injuries, specifically to their superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson was hampered by injuries seemingly all year; starting in Week 3, they pretty much persisted through Week 18. As a result, the two-time MVP couldn’t do damage and take ankles on the ground like he usually does. He finished the 2025 campaign with just 67 carries for 349 yards and two touchdowns—a far cry from what he usually does.

However, Jackson is still one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the NFL. At 100 percent, he should return to dominance on the ground. And if you’re not convinced of that, take Maxx Crosby’s word for it.

When talking about QB pursuits, Crosby had to give Jackson his flowers.

“F— it, they’re a quarterback. Besides Lamar Jackson, I’m running their a— down no matter what.”

Baltimore Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson poised to prove he hasn’t lost a step in 2026

If you’re a Ravens fan, you’ve probably heard it 1,000 times. “Lamar Jackson is going to be haunted by injuries.” “Lamar Jackson is going to lose a step.” That’s followed Jackson throughout the entirety of his NFL career, and here we are entering year nine, and he remains one of the top three or four quarterbacks in the league.

Of course, this past season was concerning. He did look less explosive, and certainly was missing that second gear on the ground. However, a hamstring issue is about the worst injury you could deal with if you’re a dual-threat quarterback like Jackson. It clearly limited him in a substantial capacity and made him more containable.

Let’s not forget who Jackson is, though. He’s become an elite arm talent that can sling it past any opposing defense standing in his way, but when healthy, he’s also the best scrambling threat the NFL has seen since Michael Vick, and he might even be better than him on the ground. That praise from Crosby, who is possibly the best run-defending edge rusher in the league, makes it clear that the rest of the NFL still respects Jackson as a lethal scrambler.

In addition to his prowess as a rusher, the best part about Jackson’s game might be his ability to improvise and create something out of nothing. You simply can’t count the number of times he’s been able to break free from the pocket and find an open receiver downfield throughout his career. That will undoubtedly remain one of the best parts about Jackson’s game during Baltimore’s 2026 revege tour.

There’s probably some part of Crosby that wishes he’d never have to line up across from Jackson again, and while a trade nearly made that reality, the Ravens backed out of it. Luckily for Crosby, he won’t have to deal with Jackson this season.
