The Baltimore Ravens really know how to build a roster. There’s talent everywhere—at every level, every position group. Lamar Jackson is the most electric quarterback the league has ever seen, and his two MVPs and the all-time rushing record for a quarterback make the case. He does things on a football field that humans simply shouldn’t be able to.

But it’s not just Lamar. This team is stacked everywhere you look. Marlon Humphrey. Roquan Smith. Ronnie Stanley. Kyle Hamilton. Mark Andrews. You could rattle off names all day and still leave a Pro-Bowl-caliber player off the list.

Now, Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano and Matt Verderame just confirmed what Ravens fans already knew: this team isn’t just talented—it’s elite at multiple positions. Two of them, in fact, are the best in the entire league.

The Ravens have two of the best position groups in the league

Let’s start with the tight ends. Manzano didn’t overthink it:

“The Ravens have the luxury of having two starting-caliber tight ends, making them perhaps the only team in the league that can say that. Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely combined for 97 receptions, 1,150 yards and a whopping 17 touchdowns last season.”

That’s not just production. That’s versatility, matchup nightmares, and a quarterback’s dream. You can’t focus on one without leaving the other wide open. Andrews is still one of the league’s most reliable red-zone threats, and Likely has turned into a certified problem after the catch. Baltimore’s always leaned on tight ends, but this duo might be the most dangerous yet. Don't sleep on Charlie Kolar either—he's the best TE3 in the league.

Now flip it over to the secondary. Verderame called it like he saw it:

“There aren’t any unbelievable safety duos in the league right now, but there’s one safety who tilts the field more than anybody else. Kyle Hamilton has been dominant throughout his first three NFL seasons, becoming a two-time Pro Bowler and a first-team All-Pro.”

Hamilton is the kind of player who makes everyone around him better. He plays three positions at once and still ends up being the best guy on the field. He’s not just a building block, he’s the blueprint. And while Ar’Darius Washington doesn’t have the name recognition, he held it down when called on last season. Played all 17 games, started 10, and gave Baltimore exactly what it needed at the exact time it needed it.

Baltimore has stars. Everyone knows that. But it’s the strength of the position groups that keeps everything steady. That’s what Manzano and Verderame highlighted, and they weren’t wrong.

Tight end? The best. Safety? The best. Two of the most underrated spots in the modern NFL, and the Ravens are the deepest at both. With the 2025 NFL Draft around the corner and another contender-level roster in place, don’t be surprised if a few more groups land on that list next year.
