The NFL Top 100 is always the most polarizing list in all of sports. They get some rankings right, and do a decent job of spotlighting deserving stars, like Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers, who placed 71st this year. However, others are bad…really bad.
Whatever credibility the list had left was destroyed. Lamar Jackson’s placement has already been revealed, and he comes in at No. 69. That’s absolutely horrendous.
I understand the injury card that some people will play. A variety of injuries definitely held him back in 2025. But Jackson still played in 13 games, accounted for 23 total touchdowns, and almost Superman’d a dreadful team into the playoffs in Week 18.
Dropping him all the way from No. 2 to No. 69 is straight up disrespectful.
Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson blatantly disrespected in NFL Top 100
If you’re injured throughout the season prior, it certainly impacts your positioning in the NFL Top 100. I’d understand if Jackson was dropped to the 30 to 40 range. A 67 spot drop, though, is just ridiculous. For comparison's sake, after an injury cut his 2024 season short, Joe Burrow still landed at No. 39 in that season’s ranking, dropping 33 spots.
And Jackson’s 2025 campaign is a season that you can’t judge strictly off the box score. His numbers were underwhelming for his standards, and he had almost zero impact as a rusher after injuries took their toll on him. He was still a big-time playmaker with his arm, though, and when you look at the talent, or lack thereof, surrounding him, the fact that he was able to help keep the team in it until the very end was impressive.
It looks even crazier when you compare where other quarterbacks have fallen into place so far. Most notably, Jackson is only three spots ahead of Jordan Love, who, statistically, the two-time MVP was pretty close to outperforming in two fewer games. They had the same amount of total touchdowns at 23 in 2025, and Jackson was fighting off the injury bug pretty much every day of the year.
This type of drop-off on the Top 100 has happened to Jackson before. An injury-riddled 2022 season saw him place 72nd on the list, although that was only a 36-spot drop from 36th the year before. This time around feels slightly overboard.
Luckily, this might actually be a good omen for Jackson and the Ravens. Following that drop on the list a few seasons ago, Jackson went on to win his second MVP and the team made the AFC Championship Game. If history repeats itself, the 29-year-old and Baltimore could be due for a major bounce-back.
