After spending 15 playing professional football after reaching the highest of levels, legendary wide receiver and most-recently Baltimore Ravens playmaker DeSean Jackson has decided to call it a day in the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles, the franchise he spent most of his playing days with, officially confirmed Jackson's retirement on Wednesday morning with an official statement.

In order to pay D-Jax his due, the Eagles and the player have agreed for Jackson to serve as an honorary captain during Sunday's home game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Eagles Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie hailed Jackson's ridiculous abilities and smooth skills in the official letter released by the Eagles, writing, "What made DeSean truly stand out during his accomplished 15-year career was his ability to make miraculous plays look routine."

Initially drafted by the Eagles in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, Jackson went on to earn Pro Bowl honors three times as well as becoming a bonafide Super Bowl champion with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022 when he was Odell Beckham Jr.'s teammate.

Jackson's NFL journey included stops with the Washington Commanders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and most recently the Baltimore Ravens, for whom he played in 2022.

Last season, Jackson appeared in seven games starting one with the Flock, and he finished the year with 153 receiving yards on nine receptions getting targeted 17 times in his Ravens stint.

Over 183 games, he amassed 641 catches for 11,263 yards and 58 touchdowns. As a versatile threat, Jackson also showcased his skills on special teams, tying as the Eagles' all-time leader in punt return touchdowns with four.
