2. Safety - DeAndre Houston-Carson
DeAndre Houston Carson, who was signed by the Baltimore Ravens in the middle of August to bolster the injury-ravaged secondary, has been released by the franchise. Tom Pelissero first reported the news on Monday, making it the first cut of the week ahead of Tuesday's deadline.
Already on the wrong side of 30, the former Chicago Bears signed with the Ravens off the streets a few weeks ago but didn't do enough to convince the franchise to carry him into the regular season.
Houston-Carson is a former sixth-round pick of the Bears and although he was waived by his former team one year after getting drafted, he rejoined the franchise later and played on one-year deals for Chicago of late.
Last season, Houston-Carson appeared in all 17 games while racking up 45 tackles (two for a loss), as well as picking one pass and forcing a fumble through the regular season.
