3 bold predictions for the Ravens vs. Lions game in Week 7
By Justin Long
The Ravens are coming off a solid 24-16 victory against the Titans last weekend in London. They currently sit atop the AFC North with a 4-2 record, while the opposing Lions are riding a four-game win streak coming into this weekend.
Detroit is currently 5-1 (tied for the best record in the NFL) and sits atop the NFC North. Here are 3 bold predictions for the highly anticipated matchup.
Both teams will fail to score 20+ points
Although most of the attention has gone towards the Lions and their explosive offense, both the Ravens and Lions have very strong defenses.
The Ravens' defense has been a top 3 unit in football, ranking 2nd in opponent yards per game, 4th in points per game, 2nd in sacks per game and they are tied for the most sacks this season.
The Lions defense has also been impressive, allowing under 300 total yards per game and sitting at the 7th best mark in the league. They also are allowing just 18.8 points per game, tying them for the 9th fewest in the NFL.
The calling card of both defenses has been their run-stopping which ranks as the best in the NFL, allowing just 64 rushing yards per game.
Two of the last three times the Ravens and Lions have faced off have resulted in a Ravens victory by two points or less with both teams scoring less than 20 points.
I think this could be a similar result to this one. Although both of these offenses have been explosive at times this season, I think this could be another close, low-scoring matchup.
