The Baltimore Ravens entered their second week of training camp with an eventful back-to-back full-pads practices to kick it all off but then removed them for the last couple of days, including a soft walk-through session on Thursday, August 3, at the Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, Md.

Breaking away from their previous full-pads routine, the coaching staff decided on a different approach, opting for a second consecutive day of pad-less practice with two more sessions scheduled for Friday on Saturday expected to put some added stress on the bodies of the players.

As the day unfolded, the team experienced both the yin and yang of training camp, embracing the ebb and flow of their preparations with multiple stories and comments worth discussing emerging from The Castle.

Here are the most interesting storylines that popped up through Day 8 of the Baltimore Ravens training camp.

1. Are the Ravens going to sign an OLB... or will they rely on young EDGE players?

The Ravens brought a mixture of experience and youthfulness to the offense this offseason by extending a still-young Lamar Jackson to keep manning their pocket, bringing experienced wideouts Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor to Baltimore, but also drafting youngster Zay Flowers with a first-round pick.

The defense of the Flock, most prominently, lost two key veterans in CB Marcus Peters and IDL Calais Campbel during free agency and since then the squad has filled some of the gaps by adding veterans such as CB Rock Ya-Sin.

Other than that, though, the defensive line and the linebackers/edge units have not experienced that much turnaround nor seen new names added to them.

In other words, the Ravens, at least for now, seem to be playing the waiting game and betting on the young pairing of Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo to cover their OLB positions.

On Thursday, Yannick Ngakue signed with the Chicago Bears. Justin Houston left Baltimore as a free agent and he's still available in the free market although nothing is pointing toward an imminent reunion. Other names have been linked to the Ravens but all of them look like longshots to be added to the fold at this point.
