3 things we learned from the Baltimore Ravens offseason

2. Baltimore is saving up for big extensions
The Ravens didn't spend a ton of money this offseason, as they decided to let external free agents head somewhere else. While Baltimore would have kept them if they could waive a magic wand and throw the league's salary cap rules in the trash can, Eric DeCosta knows he needs to keep some of his best names happy.
The $98 million contract given to breakout star Justin Madubuike was the first of what should be many contracts given to some of Baltimore's stars on both sides of the ball in the next year or two.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Ravens will need to pay center Tyler Linderbaum like one of the best at his position while trying to keep their elite 1-2 punch at tight end together by retaining Isaiah Likely.
The Baltimore Ravens are saving up for big extensions
The Ravens will likely need to give safety Kyle Hamilton a contract that is so expensive that it possibly resets the market at the position. If the Ravens want to avoid a redux of the Patrick Queen scenario, a contract for breakout cornerback Brandon Stephens could be coming.
Baltimore has already paid stars like Jackson, Madubuike, and Roquan Smith, all of whom are among the best in the league at their positions. The foundation is solid, and Baltimore has told the rest of the NFL they want to keep as many of their most impactful names as lifetime Ravens.
