Chris Horton, killer from the touchline

Speaking after Thursday's practice, and asked by Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun about the things and plans the Ravens have been cooking to deal with freshman QB C.J. Stroud, this is all ST Coordinator Chris Horton had to say:

"First and foremost, you're trying to hit him as much as humanly possible," Horton described. And that's probably all you need to get hyped about this game on Sunday, isn't it?

"Then you're going to try and confuse [Texans' rookies and other new players] pre-snap, but those guys... the complexity of defenses in the National Football League is leaps and bounds of what you're going to see in college," Horton explained."You're forced to be vanilla because you just don't have time on task in the college game. Those guys are forced to do so many other things."

Horton played three seasons in the NFL spanning from 2008 through 2010 as a member of the Washington football team. He apparead in 29 games manning the safety slot while starting 15 of those matchups, one of them against the Texans.

Back in Sept. 2010, when facing Houston, Horton was able to complete six tackles (one of them for a loss of yardage) in a 30-27 loss against the Texans. Horton appeared in five more games that season after entering the Injured Reserve in Week 10 of the 2010 regular season.

And now, on to the actual players!
