Offensive Lineman - Sam Mustipher

The Ravens signed former Bears starting center, Sam Mustipher, in May to make up for the loss of Trystan Colon once he departed for the greener pastures of New York.

Mustipher is the only center backup in the Ravens roster behind second-year man Tyler Linderbaum and comes with 40 games of experience under his belt.

Now that HC John Harbaugh has made the official call to name John Simpson the starting left guard, and with Ben Cleveland expected to play some sort of do-it-all-backup role in 2023, could Mustipher be on the verge of getting cut after signing his contract just a few months ago?

Rookie lineman Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu has struggled more and more each passing preseason game, and that means that Cleveland might actually be more needed in case of an emergency rather than Mustipher, who can only man the center position.

This decision will come down to how much the Ravens front office and coaches trust using a makeshift-center in Patrick Mekari in the event of an injury to Linderbaum. If they're comfortable with that, then cutting Mustipher and carrying Cleveland into the regular season is the most probable outcome next Tuesday.
