Winners: CB Arthur Maulet, Ronald Darby

The Ravens signed former Pittsburgh Steelers slot cornerback Arthur Maulet at the start of training camp. Baltimore added Ronald Darby a few days before the preseason finale and after knowing about Marlon Humphrey's "month-long" injury.

None of the two has appeared in a single preseason game while missing a bunch of training camp practices (whether that was recovering from injury or not having yet been signed), yet bot of them made the 53-man roster on Tuesday. Now, that's a win.

Maulet is a seasoned veteran and much better than cut-rookie Kyu Kelly at this point, not to mention that he man the nickel position while the freshman has always played on the outside.

The former Steelers corner has missed practices left and right, of course, but the Ravens still brought him to their initial roster and that's more than enough to see how valuable he is for the team. It's true that he could have been cut, then re-signed as a veteran without having to go through waivers, but that only makes this win an even bigger one for him.

Darby, while in a totally opposite situation, is also a huge winner. He is entering the regular season expected to be named the CB1 of the Ravens for Week 1 and as long as Humphrey is out rehabbing. Even when the leader of Baltimore's secondary returns, it's more than probable that Darby retains a CB2 role opposite him, relegating Rock Ya-Sin to the bench.

The former Bronco has started 88 games throughout his NFL career, has simply seen it all, and he said "I'm ready. That's what I'm out here doing. I'm getting myself back into football shape. If I get called on, I'm going to go out there and give my all," following Tuesday's team practice, per BaltimoreRavens.com transcripts.
