7 Winners and 4 Losers from Ravens 29-28 loss to Washington
Winner: CB Ar'Darius Washington
Washington played most of his best snaps at the nickel position and was extraordinary against the Commanders' slot receivers on Monday.
According to Pro Football Focus charting data, although the Commanders QBs completed all three targets thrown his way, the corner limited the pass catchers he defended to just 20 yards on those three grabs for an average of just 6.6 yards per reception.
Of those three receptions, only one ended in a first down, and on top of everything, again per PFF, Washington also defended two plays successfully, including stopping Commanders' Sam Howell from converting a scramble.
The combination of his production in both the training camp practices and the preseason games, along with the never-ending injury bug currently affecting the Ravens' secondary has Washington looking good not only to make the final 53-man roster but also to start the regular season on one of the three (outside x2, nickel) roles available for him in defense.
After going undrafted and getting cut (he then joined the practice squad and ultimately played in three games) before last year's regular season, it looks like Washington's breakout has finally arrived.
