7 Winners and 4 Losers from Ravens 29-28 loss to Washington
Winner: QB Josh Johnson
After having a subpar peformance in the preseason debut a little over a week ago in the victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Johnson had himself a bounceback-outing on Monday against the Commanders.
Johnson completed 10-of-12 passes for 145 yards while throwing two touchdowns and one end-zone interception. That last blemish, though, can be blamed more on WR James Proche's butterhands rather than on a bad throw by Johnson.
I know that's a lowlight, but it works nicely with the next slide when you check Proche's history and see why the fault is on him and not Johnson. Wait for it, or simply advance to the next page if you want to do so now.
Back to Johnson and his case for getting that QB2 role over incumbent backup Tyler Huntley (who didn't play because he's nursing a hamstring injury), it's hard to say the 37-year-old could have done more to raise his stock a week from the final roster cuts.
If the Ravens decide to waive Johnson next week, which is the most probable outcome, it's fair to assume that he will be one of the most sought-after veteran quarterbacks by other franchises in the need of warm/reserve bodies at the position.
