The Baltimore Ravens began their 2024 NFL season with a devastating 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. It wasn't the way Flock Nation would have hoped the season began, but at this point, it is what it is. They move on to the next one. The Ravens came into the season as the team to beat in the AFC North.

The rest of the AFC North begins their season this afternoon. The division might just be the toughest in the NFL this season. Last year, all teams finished the season with winning records, and there’s a strong likelihood this trend could repeat.

It all starts today. See who we're predicting comes away with a 1-0 start to the season and who joins the Ravens with a tick in the loss column.

AFC North Week 1 predictions

Cincinnati Bengals vs. New England Patriots

The New England Patriots face significant challenges on their offensive line, missing key starters Vederian Lowe and Sidy Sow, complicating their matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals’ robust defensive front. With the Patriots already struggling in pass protection last season, their evolving offensive line configuration remains a critical concern.

Despite being clear favorites, the Bengals' passing attack, led by quarterback Joe Burrow returning from a wrist injury, will be tested by a solid New England secondary. However, uncertainties surrounding star receiver Ja'Marr Chase's availability could impact Cincinnati's offense. Taking these factors into account, the Bengals are in a good position to exploit the Patriots' weaknesses, which could potentially result in a convincing 31-10 victory for Cincinnati in Week 1.

Prediction: Bengals win 31-10

Cleveland Browns vs. Dallas Cowboys

In the upcoming Dallas Cowboys vs. Celveland Browns game, both teams confront significant challenges with their offensive lines. The Cowboys are starting two rookies: Tyler Guyton at left tackle, who will occasionally face reigning Defensive Player of the Year defensive end Myles Garrett one-on-one, and center Cooper Beebe, who is tasked with leading the line calls against a formidable home defense. Despite their inexperience, quarterback Dak Prescott remains confident in their ability to handle the pressure.

Meanwhile, the Browns are adjusting to a shifted lineup with right tackle Jack Conklin potentially moving to left tackle, a position he hasn’t played since college, due to Jedrick Wills Jr.‘s injury. This reshuffle comes as Cleveland aims to rejuvenate QB Deshaun Watson’s career, despite the looming challenge from Cowboys’ top pass rusher, Micah Parsons. Given these dynamics, the Cowboys are poised to secure a gritty 24-20 victory in what promises to be a closely contested matchup.

Prediction: Cowboys win 24-20

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Atlanta Falcons

As the NFL season kicks off, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons each bring notable storylines to the field. It looks like quarterback Justin Fields will start Week 1 with quarterback Russell Wilson looking like he'll miss time. Pittsburgh, with a focus on improving their defense, will lean on offseason acquisition and former Raven linebacker Patrick Queen to enhance their run defense, which struggled last year, against Falcons’ key RB Bijan Robinson.

The Falcons are looking to take advantage of their improved pass rush, led by the new addition Matthew Judon and supported by Arnold Ebiketie. They are particularly targeting the vulnerable Steelers' offensive line. Despite Pittsburgh’s historical dominance over Atlanta, with a record of 15-2-1, the Falcons believe they are ready for a 24-17 victory. They plan to leverage their strengthened defense against the Steelers’ offensive challenges.

Prediction: Falcons win 24-17
