We are continuing to count down the Baltimore Ravens roster as we are counting down the days until the team hits training camp. Our list is looking into which players have the best chance at making the roster and then, from there, who can help the team win games with their presence the most often.

We are working down closer to the top 53. Today, we are looking at number 56, Kevon Seymour.

Baltimore Ravens 2023 roster ranking: No. 56 Kevon Seymour

Kevon Seymour is a former sixth-round pick from the 2016 NFL draft. He has been able to stick in the NFL since 2016 despite playing just 939 snaps in his career. Seymour went from the Buffalo Bills in 2016 to the Carolina Panthers in 2017. He was in Carolina in 2018, but an injury ended his season early.

Seymour spent 2019 out of football but returned in 2020 on the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. The Baltimore Ravens signed him in 2021, and he played 247 snaps. That earned him a chance to make the roster again, and he did. Seymour finished with six total snaps played in 2022, though.

Still, over the last two years he has 159 snaps and 293 snaps respectively, on special teams. So, he will be tough to get off of the roster.

The reason that someone who has been inside the top 53 the past two seasons is sitting at 56 is due to what the Ravens did this offseason. Jalyn Armour-Davis was hurt last year, and he will be back. More than that, the Ravens signed Rock Ya-Sin and Trayvon Mullen before also drafting Kyu Blu Kelly. All of them should be over Seymour, and only special teams can keep Seymour over those players.

Seymour could work into the slot, but he has just 440 snaps of his career, 939 in the slot. That gives him experience, but he certainly is not a top option. Between Kyle Hamilton sliding in, Brandon Stephens being a hybrid, and then guys like Ar'Darius Washington and Pepe Williams, it is hard to see him earning the slot role.

So, he is getting pushed down in both areas and while he has special teams, he may be losing ground there as well. It was a solid run, but he is on the roster edge entering training camp.
