Unrealistic expectation for Ravens QB Lamar Jackson in 2023: Play all 17 games

Dating back to his rookie year, Jackson has never played an entire season. Granted, he didn't start until midway through his rookie season. But, injuries have plagued him every season. It seems unavoidable at this point.

Do we want to believe he can play an entire season, healthy? Of course. Hopefully a fresh offense will help that goal, too, but seeing Jackson play all 17 games this year appears to be an unrealistic goal for the former MVP.

Look, Jackson just got paid. He got what he wanted. He has his security, but he now needs to make sure he can play out that contract and make the most money possible. As stated, injuries have seemed to always be an issue for Jackson. However, one would think now after getting the bag, that Jackson will look to protect himself just a bit better.

It also helps that Jackson has more weapons at his disposal, and the offense is going to be in the hands of Todd Monken. Hopefully, Monken provides a breath of fresh air that Greg Roman could not, and that it allows Jackson to protect himself better while geting the ball into other playmakers' hands more often.
