Baltimore Ravens: 4 veteran free agents to sign after 2023 NFL Draft
By Ryan Heckman
Free agents the Baltimore Ravens should add following 2023 NFL Draft: CB Marcus Peters
Finally, the Ravens should bring back veteran cornerback Marcus Peters. Baltimore entered the draft needing to add a starting cornerback next to Marlon Humphrey, but wasn't able to do so. They did draft Stanford corner Kyu Blu Kelly in the fifth round, but by no means could he be a sure fire starter.
At this point, it would be best to take the gamble on Peters' health being back to 100 percent and installing him into the defense like he never left. Peters hasn't had the overall production he had early on in his career, but he's still crafty enough to make meaningful plays.
Last season was a bit of an outlier, because of his health, and because the defense didn't really come together as a unit until it was too late for Peters to make a long-lasting impact. But, if he is healthy now, he is well-worth bringing back. It would be a sensible, easy move that likely wouldn't cost the team greatly.
Peters fills a need, yes, but more importantly it's a starting need.
