Baltimore Ravens cannot play this player for the rest of the NFL playoffs
The Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans in a domination 34-10 win. The Ravens did what they have typically done since the bye week, they have rotated their offensive tackles. It has been an effort to keep both Ronnie Stanley and Morgan Moses fresh after they had injuries throughout the early portion of the season.
The Baltimore Ravens have to bench Daniel Faalele and stop the platoon
Still, there was a question of whether this move was in an effort to get the two to the playoffs healthy or if there was a plan to continue this into the playoffs. We learned against the Texans that the plan was to continue this into the playoffs.
Ronnie Stanley sat out 15 snaps for Patrick Mekari, while Morgan Moses sat out five snaps for Daniel Faalele. It has not been an issue on the left side of the ball. Stanley has been better and healthier since the bye week, and Mekari has proven to be serviceable. Mekari played on the Ravens' first-half touchdown drive.
On the flip side, the Ravens have to stop the rotation with Daniel Faalele. Faalele has been awful in his limited time. It is nice for the Ravens to get him some work because he needs the snaps and does not have the experience. Still, he is now starting to cost the team. He played five snaps and allowed two pressures. It is no shock that the Ravens quickly punted when he saw the field for his series. The team wisely did not bring him back into the game.
This platoon has to stop. They are at risk of Moses getting hurt, but at the same time, he just has to stay healthy for two more weeks. If they want to mix in Mekari for Stanley, that is fine, but we need to see Faalele back on the bench.
